The Lukas Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is comprised of parents, staff, and community members who are committed to supporting every student and actively working to improve our children's future. We encourage all families to participate in our meetings whether or not you are a member. Attending PTA meetings is one way to be sure your voice is head in our community. It is also a great way to make new friends and get to know teachers while serving kids in our community! You may choose to join the PTA at anytime during the school year, but membership is not required to attend meetings or help with initiatives.
The Lukas Elementary PTA, in a collaborative effort with School Accountability Committee (SAC), is a vital part of the Skywalker Community Partnership (SCP).
The mission of the PTA is threefold:
To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.
The Lukas PTA concurs with the National PTA in aligning our activities to meet the following objectives:
To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship;
To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth;
To raise the standards of home life;
To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth; and
To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.
